From our very first placement to our 48-child live TV events, our standard has never changed: qualified professionals, genuine care, and complete reliability 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  Beyond childcare, we are a community-first business.

We are proud co-founders and supporters of Kindness Pantry, a free community food pantry operating under the ethos ‘Take What You Need, Give What You Can’  because we believe that caring for families doesn’t stop at the front door.  When you call ABC Nanny Services, you reach real people who understand what it means to need support, and who show up.

Our Directors are two Early Childhood Educators and a Secondary Teacher with a combined experience of over 25 years. They are also parents themselves, and understand the importance of getting the right candidate for each family.

In the unlikely situation a nanny or sitter cancels, we are available to provide a replacement sitter at short notice. This is our ‘We’ve Got Your Back’ policy. It simply means we provide a replacement if your chosen nanny is unable to attend.

Who we are

Genevieve Muir
Director

  • BA Hons Business Management and Entrepreneurship (Staffordshire University, 2002)
  • Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (Metro College of Technology 2014)

Genevieve started her career in the UK following the completion of her degree, where she worked up the ladder of a large multi-national company.

After her firstborn she found a lack of childcare solutions that suited the hours she required, and that also provided a homely, nurturing environment. She decided to retrain as an Early Childhood Educator in 2008, and opened her first Family Day Care Centre later that year.  For the next 11 years, Genevieve’s focus has been on providing a high-quality yet nurturing environment for over 500 children, with a holistic approach rather than a standard ‘one size fits all’ framework.

Now, with ABC Nanny Services, Genevieve has expanded this child-focused approach to include more personalised and flexible child care services for a much wider scope of parent requirements.

Ida Fontillas
Director

  • BS in Nursing (Centro Escolar University, 2009)
  • Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (Metro College of Technology 2015)

Ida’s career began in the Philippines where she became head nurse in a private hospital over four years, before locating to Sydney and becoming a Registered Nurse (RN) in Australia.

With a young family, the need to balance work and life led to an interest in the child care industry, into which she soon transitioned. Ida initially worked as a relief educator, part time nanny and babysitter. In 2015, she had the opportunity to open and run her own Family Day Care Centre which very soon had a 4 year waiting list.

Over the next few years, parents increasingly inquired about much more personalised services, and Ida saw the opportunity to provide a supportive platform for experienced nannies and au-pairs to find the work and training they needed, and for parents to find the assistance they needed.

Steve Muir
Director

  • Bachelor in PDHPE (University of Sydney, 1999)

Following graduation, Steve spent 8 years working for a school in the UK and moved back to Sydney with his family in 2008.

Upon his return, he was employed by Newington College as a PDHPE teacher. He has worked there ever since and has been working as a House Master at the College for the last 4 years, responsible for the pastoral care of over 180 students.

He is a senior Rugby and Cricket Coach at the College. He is the Cultural Liaison Officer for Indigenous students at the College, and is held in high regard within the GPS network. He is trained in Positive Education with a focus on Growth Mind-sets. He is passionate about the development of the young men under his guidance, and believes education is the foundation for young people to thrive.
