We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.
What we collect
- Your name, email address, phone number and the suburb or address where care is needed.
- Details about the children in your care, including their ages, and anything you tell us about allergies, medical needs, medication or routine, so that we staff the booking safely and to the correct ratio.
- Booking details, quotes, invoices and payment records.
- For nannies applying to work with us: identity and contact details, qualifications, Working With Children Check and police check details, references and employment records.
- Standard website information such as pages visited, collected through cookies and analytics.
Why we collect it
To prepare quotes, arrange and deliver care, match a suitable nanny, meet our legal obligations including child protection and employment law, invoice you, and respond to enquiries and complaints.
How we hold it
Information submitted through our quote form and contact forms is stored in our website database and in our email system, and is accessible only to authorised staff. Quote records are retained so we can answer questions about a booking later. We take reasonable steps to protect information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access.
Who we share it with
- The nanny allocated to your booking, who receives only what they need to care for your children safely.
- Our insurers, accountants and professional advisers where necessary.
- Government agencies where the law requires it, including mandatory reporting of concerns about a child’s safety.
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for third party marketing.
Health information about children
Allergy, medical and medication details are sensitive information. We collect them only with your consent, use them only to care for your child safely, and share them only with the nanny attending your booking and, in an emergency, with medical staff.
Access, correction and complaints
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by writing to info@abcnannyservices.com. We will respond within 30 days. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, tell us first and we will try to resolve it. You can also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
